Terri Mason qualified as a solicitor in 2004 and transferred to the Bar in 2019. She specialises in children law (public and private law) having done so since 2006. She is a former member of the Law Society Children Accreditation Scheme (also known as the Children’s Panel) and so is experienced in representing competent children. She is a former local authority solicitor and continues to represent local authorities in her current practice.
Terri represents local authorities, children via their children’s guardian, parents, grandparents and other connected persons in a variety of public law proceedings to include adoption proceedings and deprivations of liberty. She has been instructed in cases involving serious allegations of abuse to include a child death where she was led by a silk.
Terri has completed the Family Law Bar Association’s vulnerable witness training and has experience both representing and cross-examining vulnerable witnesses and parties.
As to private law proceedings, Terri represents children through their children’s guardian, parents, and relatives involving a variety of issues including relocation (international and national), domestic violence/abuse, implacable hostility by a parent to contact, and intractable opposition by children to contact.
Thorough in her preparation and personable in her approach, Terri provides clients with clear and realistic advice but equally does not shy away from putting their case.
