Overview

Anjola’s practice has a particular focus on business & property and crime. Anjola joined Chambers as a tenant in October 2025 following the successful completion of his Pupillage.

He is instructed to advise on and appear in matters concerning property, insurance, proceeds of crime, and violent disorder, and has appeared extensively in the County and Crown Court.

Prior to pupillage, Anjola worked as a paralegal at Bhatt Murphy, on the UK Covid Public Inquiry. Further, he spent eight months as the legal secretary and as a researcher at the nonprofit, WhistleblowersUK where he supported the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Whistleblowing on law reform.

Abroad, he interned at the Lagos Public Interest Law Partnership, teaching inmates court procedure in Lagos’ second largest prison. He also interned at the NGO, ‘Enough is Enough’ where his infographic, challenging the legality of the Nigerian Twitter ban, was published in two national newspapers.

Anjola is a member of the Bar Council’s Law Reform Committee.

Specialist Profiles

Anjola is instructed in landlord and tenant disputes, possession claims, debt recovery matters, and general contractual disputes.

His experiences, including placements at Linklaters LLP and Stanbic IBTC Bank, have made him attuned to the needs and expectations of commercial clients.

Selected cases include:

  • Successfully resisting a fast-track application to set aside a possession order
  • Instructed in a contested debt recovery matter
  • Successfully bringing a Part 20 claim on behalf of an interior design company in a contractual dispute

Anjola is regularly briefed to defend and prosecute a range of criminal matters ranging from violent disorder to proceeds of crime.

As a defence advocate and Grade 2 prosecutor, he is well versed on the needs of vulnerable clients, complainants and witnesses.

  • R v TH [2025] – Successful submission to depart from the mandatory minimum sentence for a 3rd strike drug offender
  • R v SD [2025] – Successful half time submission of no case to answer in a two-day section 20 GBH trial
  • R v JC [2025] – Prosecuting an appeal against conviction for controlling and coercive behaviour involving a 13-year-old witness
  • R v MB [2025] – Defending a man in a sentence for violent disorder following the race riots flowing from the Southport killing
  • R v X [2025] – Youth court acquittal for taking a vehicle without consent
