Nicholas Towers from St Ives Chambers has been appointed as a ‘Member of the Panel of Chairmen of the Valuation Tribunal for England’.

Nicholas Towers has been appointed by the Lord Chancellor as a ‘Member of the Panel of Chairmen of the Valuation Tribunal for England’.

 Mr Towers (Year of Call 2011), a Barrister at St Ives Chamber in Birmingham, specialises in Chancery, Commercial and Housing law. The appointment to the panel will involve hearing appeals on council tax liability, council tax bands and non-domestic rates decisions.

 I am delighted to be appointed to the Panel,” explained Mr Towers, “The Judicial Appointments Commission process was hard work, so being appointed as a Chairman was a very pleasant outcome. I’m looking forward to beginning my appointment which will continue alongside my role as a Barrister within St Ives Chambers.”

 Mr Towers will take up the appointment immediately.
