Family Assistant Practice Manager

An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Practice Manager to join the Family Clerking Team.

Candidates must be a confident communicator, conscientious, hard-working and enthusiastic, highly organised and having attention to detail. You must be capable of working as part of a team as well as using own initiative. Experience of Lex or Meridian software would be an advantage.

The successful candidates will report to the Family Practice Manager, the main responsibilities for the post are:
• Assist the Practice Manager in all aspects of clerking
• Assist in the marketing of the family team
• Maintain and develop effective relationships with solicitors, clients and court staff
• Assist with managing the practices of the family team
• Assist with managing the family barristers’ diaries
• Negotiate fees with clients
• Assist with billing of family team including Family Graduated Fees and Fixed Advocacy Fees
• Working with the Legal Aid Agencies Case Cost Management system (CCMS)
• Liaising with clients, court staff , Legal Aid Agency and chambers fees clerks
• Gaining and maintaining a full working knowledge of Legal Aid Agency Fee Regulations
• Liaising with Solicitors and the Legal Aid Agency in relation to cost/documentation queries
• Dealing and solving issues resulting from rejected claims by the Legal Aid Agency
• Dealing with incoming calls and responding to requests efficiently.

Following a strategic business review St Ives’ chambers has a newly created position of Family Finance Practice Manager who will join our busy clerking team. We are ideally looking for individuals with experience in an established clerking or otherwise similar role.

Candidates must have experience of delivering practice management and business development services to a high standard and possess strong communication and interpersonal skills. They will be hard-working and enthusiastic, conscientious, highly organised and possess a keen eye for detail. They must be capable of working as part of a team as well as using own initiative. Experience of Lex or Meridian software would be an advantage.

The successful candidate will report to the Chambers Director, and the main responsibilities for the position are:
• Day to day practice management and development of the individual barristers
• Business development and marketing strategies for the family finance team
• Liaise with solicitors, other professional clients and public access clients
• Maintain and develop effective relationships with solicitors, clients and court staff
• Report to the Heads of Group on a regular basis
• Be part of the management team and report on a regular basis
• Promote and market the family finance team
• Management of the Assistant Practice Manager
• Negotiate fees with clients and efficient billing
• Deal with incoming calls and responding to requests efficiently.
• Work with the Legal Aid Agencies Case Cost Management system (CCMS)
• Deal with court staff , Legal Aid Agency and chambers fees clerks

Following a strategic business review St Ives’ chambers has a newly created position of Marketing Manager who will join our management team. We are looking for an individual with experience in an established marketing position, who ideally holds relevant qualifications (degree level).

Candidates must have experience of delivering marketing strategies to a high standard. Experience of staff management is desirable. The ideal candidate will be hard-working, enthusiastic and conscientious, highly organised and possess an ability to build rapport with people in various capacities. They must be capable of working as part of a team as well as on own initiative. Knowledge of IT systems is essential, although specialised training will be provided.

: • To explore opportunities presented by the current and forthcoming changes in the structure and provision of legal services
• To improve sector profile, source new markets and increase market share through promotion and marketing of chambers and its practice groups
• Responsible for writing content, creating copy for website, marketing literature, newsletters and media releases
• To promote Chambers brand through advertising in relevant publications
• Maintain and develop effective relationships with solicitors, clients and court staff
• Promote and market the practice group and individual barristers within the overall chambers business strategy, carry out appropriate client visits
• Reporting and analysing all marketing and business development activities and opportunities in readiness for Management Committee and Management Team strategic business planning days
• Full understanding of Chambers IT capabilities in order to allow for reliable and accurate reporting
• Manage annual marketing budget
• Carry out additional duties as may be required

Candidates must have experience of working in a professional environment to a high standard. The ideal candidate will be hard-working, enthusiastic, and conscientious, highly organised and possess a keen eye for detail. They must be capable of working as part of a team as well as on own initiative. Knowledge of IT systems is essential, although specialised training will be provided.

The successful candidate will report to the Chambers Director and the main responsibilities for the position are: • Responsible for uploading content onto Chambers website, including: news, articles, client testimonials, profiles and policies
• Assist the Marketing Manager in social media account management ensuring that events, seminars and news are distributed via social media channels such as Twitter and LinkedIn
• Ensure that the correct terminology is used (in line with Chambers definitions) for the recording and publicising of Chambers marketing and business development activities
• Assist and support the Marketing Manager in preparation of all documentation, including but not limited to Legal Directory submissions, award nominations and tenders
• Support Marketing Manager in the creation of marketing material and promotional items
• Support Marketing Manager in arranging all events and seminar activities
• Keeping database contact up to date with accurate and relevant information that can support marketing initiatives and activities
• Collate client feedback information for reporting purposes
• Assist and support Practice Managers with arranging a broad range of events
