Background:

Max possesses wide experience in landlord and tenant litigation and has been instructed on a number of matters both in chambers and during his previous role as a solicitors’ agent. He has acted in rent and other repossessions, deposit compensation cases and disrepair claims. He has acted for landlords of both commercial and residential premises and for both private landlords and housing associations. He also has been instructed to represent tenants resisting possession proceedings.

Since joining the chambers Max has gained experience in Anti-Social Behaviour Injunctions and committal for breach hearings. He has also been instructed in cases relating to the making of Interim Possession Orders against trespassers pursuant to CPR part 55 and the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994.

Max welcomes instructions to undertake written work in addition to his court based practice, including the drafting of pleadings and statements of case.

Max is keen to develop a housing practice and is able to accept instructions commensurate with his year of call.

Property

Max possesses wide experience in property litigation and has been instructed on a number of matters during his previous role as a solicitors’ agent. He has acted in mortgage repossessions, applications to discharge charging orders and applications for orders for sale pursuant to TOLATA.

Max welcomes instructions to undertake written work in addition to his court based practice, including the drafting of pleadings and statements of case.

Max is keen to develop a property law practice and is able to accept instructions commensurate with his year of call.

Further Information:

Prior to joining chambers Max worked as a solicitors’ agent for a leading advocacy provider and conducted a wide array of hearings before District Judges in the County Court. He also has experience working in-house for a leading telecoms provider. In addition, Max has represented individuals in benefits appeals while volunteering for the Free Representation Unit.
