Timothy is an experienced advocate who quickly recognises the significant aspects of the most complicated of family law cases.
He has extensive knowledge in difficult public and private law matters. His relaxed, reassuring style means that he is quick to establish a rapport with professional and lay clients alike enabling them to place their trust and confidence in him as their counsel.
Timothy adopts a methodical approach to case preparation, preferring to collaborate with the client and the solicitor to achieve the best outcome at court. He demonstrates a preemptive style in his advocacy.
Timothy often appears in exceptionally serious public law cases and is frequently led in the higher courts of the Family Court. He often acts for clients against leading counsel in the High Court.
Timothy is proficient in all aspects of child care work and has represented many local authorities, guardians and parents in difficult matters concerning the welfare of children.
Timothy has particular interest in cases involving:
• Non-accidental injury including fractures and brain injury
• Sexual abuse
• Fabricated and induced illness
• Domestic violence
• Chronic neglect
• Applications involving the Human Rights of children
• Public interest immunity (PII) issues relating to children
He has experience of applications under the Human Rights Act as well as in cases involving concurrent criminal trials and calling children as witnesses.
Timothy has acted for parents, children and extended family in all aspects of private law proceedings, including:

Timothy has acted as counsel in an internal inquiry for a public authority which required him to produce and speak to a report detailing his findings which were accepted in full.
Timothy lectures to solicitors, fellow barristers, and local authority specialists on an assortment of family law subjects. He often represents Chambers at internal and external seminars and has lectured for CLT.
He is an active member of the Child Care Group within Chambers and provides training to local authorities and solicitors’ firms. Timothy is an active member of Inner Temple and assists in training students for a career at the Bar.
Timothy is the Head of Pupillage and Tenancy at Chambers.
