Michelle Brown specialises in child law. Michelle regularly appears in complex care and adoption proceedings involving serious physical injury, child sexual abuse, emotional harm and neglect cases. Michelle acts on behalf of local authorities parents and children. Michelle is regularly instructed on behalf of parents who have behavioural, emotional, mental health or learning difficulties.
Michelle is also regularly instructed to act in private law proceedings. Michelle has a particular interest in domestic violence matters and regularly acts in cases involving all aspects of domestic violence and abuse.
J (A Child)  EWCA Civ 1210 ) Michelle acted as junior counsel on behalf of the local authority in the Court of Appeal where the court were asked to consider assessment under S38(6) of the Children Act 1989 and the issue of rights of audience being granted to McKenzie Friends.
S-G (Children)  EWCA Civ 653 Michelle was led in the Court of Appeal where the court was asked to consider the issue of transfer of residence and defective judicial reasoning.
Michelle regularly lectures in Domestic Violence for Central Law Training,Regional Law Societies and Solicitors.
Michelle was invited to lecture at the CLT National Conference on Domestic Violence in 2008 and Child Care Conference in 2010.
