Background:

Since being called to the Bar in 2005, instructed by local authorities, solicitors for parents and children in both public and private law cases. Also acts for parents and children with disabilities including those with severe learning or mental health difficulties and is regularly instructed on behalf of the Official Solicitor.

As a result of having a background in defending in serious criminal law cases have acted in cases where there have been concurrent criminal and care proceedings.

Articled at Messrs Leo Abse & Cohen, Cardiff from 1973 to 1975.

Practised in the West Midlands as a prosecuting solicitor from 1976 to 1983 when jointly started the firm of Messrs Plunkett Lohmus of Handsworth, Birmingham specialising in serious crime and complex care cases for parties with disabilities and also acting as the solicitor for children.
