Ann is a senior family law specialist with considerable High Court and Court of Appeal experience. She specialises in Care and Adoption cases representing parents, children (through their guardian) and local authorities in complex cases of physical and sexual abuse and neglect. She is experienced in cases involving expert medical evidence and more serious injuries including infant deaths. Recent cases have included a 4 week High Court fact find involving multiple allegations of sexual abuse, representing the child and a 2 week High Court fact find involving physical, sexual and emotional abuse, representing the father.
Ann believes in barrister and solicitor adopting a team approach to serving the needs of the client and welcomes the opportunity to discuss cases with professional clients throughout proceedings, from an early stage. Believing client care skills to be a vital part of successful representation in family work, she seeks to establish an early rapport with clients.
Chambers & Partners 2016: "She is a strong performer. She is always very well prepared, has a good court manner and she is a real fighter. She is very effective." "She is a very well-known and respected senior junior, particularly in care work."
Re K 2005 Court of Appeal 2006 2 FLR 868 - representing the children where the younger child had suffered serious brain damage.
Ann is a regular and experienced lecturer. She has spoken across the whole spectrum of family work on St Ives Chambers Seminars and Conferences, for Central Law Training and Jordans.
